SATURDAY ECLECTICA
SO HOW MUCH ARE DUBYA'S TAX CUTS COSTING YOU NOW? Gasoline prices are expected to rise by 30 cents a gallon in the next few weeks (they have already risen 15 cents here since yesterday). The reason? According to USA TODAY, it's due to the falling value of the dollar. The larger the budget deficit, the lower the value of the dollar, which is getting clobbered right now by both the Euro and the Pound Sterling. The lower the value of the dollar, the higher the amount countries have to charge per barrel to keep up. Once again, rumors are floating that OPEC will soon switch from taking payment in dollars to the Euro instead.
IGNORANCE IN AMERICA Is there any other country in the developed world that actually celebrates and rewards ignorance like America does? That punishes people for acquiring knowledge? That rather than honor those who have worked hard and succeeded in academia, refer to them as eggheads, educated idiots, culture nazi's, etc. Is it any wonder so many of our children don't take schooling seriously? How can we demand that people continue their education, then ridicule them when they do? Aren't you sick of being looked down upon by ignorant people? Just curious!
Headed to Ann Arbor Saturday for Michigan vs. Bowling Green hockey. Since I probably won't have time to blog tomorrow, I leave you with this list of my most recent free downloads.
